Festa Vico

 

Festa Vico- designed by renowned chef Gennarino Esposito, Torre del Saracino-Vico Equense (two Michelin star restaurant) in 2003 to create a showcase of emerging cooks and chefs established in the beautiful location of Vico Equense. Over the years the event has evolved and grown, becoming an awaited regular event for food lovers and fans of gastronomic folklore and traditions. 

For three days, the beautiful town on the Sorrento coast is transformed into an incredible monumental “open kitchen”.  A festival taking over a whole town, in more than 100 shops, on the beach, in gardens and along the streets.

Guests can taste dishes freshly prepared by guests of Chef Gennarino Esposito, some of which, have become a fixed presence and who are working to support the funding of five charity projects. 

There will be something for every taste, from the nuances of pizza from Italy’s finest pizzerias,  to appearances from the most renowned “chianchieri” from different regions of Italy (Campania, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Puglia, Tuscany, Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto). 

Festa Vico is primarily a charity event, with all the proceeds going to five non-profit organisations. This year over 200,000 Euros was raised over one weekend.

2017 PROGRAM

Sunday, June 4 will stage the “Food of the Republic.” About 200 young chefs will animate the streets of Vico Equense experimenting inside and outside of the kitchen. Guests can enjoy their meals inside a florist, inside a clothing boutique or simply on various tasting tables that will pepper the streets. How to participate: a simple offer of 20 Euros to one of the non-profit collection points will give guests 5 dishes, a bottle of water and a coffee or to sample four dishes, with a glass of wine and a bottle of water and a coffee.

Monday, June 5 there will be the “Charity Dinner”. More than 20 starred chefs will prepare a dinner for 200 guests. The great names of Italian food will take guests on an unforgettable journey with classic dishes from their restaurants. The dessert buffet will be carried out by the Academy of Italian Master Pastry Chefs. How to Enter: You can take part in the evening with a minimum donation of 250 € which will be earmarked for the non-profit organisations. Since seats are limited, it is advisable to carry out the donation by bank transfer.

Tuesday, June 6 is the “Night of the Stars”. In the splendid setting of Sejanus Harbour, more than 100 star chefs will delight participants with their street food. Fondly referred to as the “Pizza of the Stars” the night will finish with “Dessert Storm” where over 20 of the best pastry chefs of Italian cuisine cook together. How to participate: you can take part in the evening with a minimum bid of € 120 which will go to non-profit associations.
